This Book is amazing – READ IT

I have this affinity with Dr. Seuss books – a lot of people know that, heck the whole 10th floor of Telecom knows I do. All the stories have underlying messages, that are either picked up on by child or parent. These books are not for me they are part of my bonding and time sharing with Ashton… well they kind of are for me, but my son Ashton LOVES reading, and being read them, The pre-reading at work is for honing my excellent reading technique 🙂

Children are infatuated with the way I read the Dr’s books….Well I like to think so at least.

Just a few moments ago while dropping off the 4 Dr. Seuss books I got out for Ashton, Emma and I sat down and looked for more of his stories, more excitement, more crazy rhymes, more life lessons.

I found this large book that was all glittery called “Oh, The places you will go” needless to say I was hooked on the first page, and gripped through to the end of the story. The ups and downs, smiles and frowns, and oh emotional ride while relating to the words and expressions in the story.

Today is your day.

You’re off to Great Places!

You’re off and away!”

When I finished reading the story aloud to Emma, both of us were in a state of wow – everybody needs to read this, not just children but adults also.

We sometimes forget that we are not always bound by the man made rules of this world, that our path and urging for our dream is strong and yes, there will be ups and downs, good people and bad people but these are all just part of the journey right?.

I found myself while reading through the pages reliving the past in my head while reading, and associating times in my life with parts of the story. As we know, life is not a smooth ride – and nor should it be. GREAT things are crafted through times of pressure just look at the humble diamond. The greatest pressures on earth doesn’t make the ugliest thing on the planet – but it makes one of the most amazing stones on earth.

From black and filthy to clear and pure, no matter our past we are all beautiful and can all focus on being pure. Sometimes we all need to be reminded that we have people backing us, even if you feel alone – its ok, your not;

“Kid, you’ll move mountains!

So…be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray or

Mordecai Ale Van Allen O‟Shea, you’re off to Great

Today is your day!

Your mountain is waiting.

So…get on your way!”

M 🙂
